MODIFIED/OPEN CLASS RULES
1. Sleds must meet safety guidelines.
2. All competing sleds will be individually inspected by race officials for safety and structural soundness.
3. Machines must be 1989 model or newer.
4. All machines must be equipped with a tethered safety kill switch which will stop the motor and any electric fuel pumps being used. Tether cord must be securely attached to operator at any time motor is running.
5. Minimum weight (as raced) 435 lbs.

FRAME & BODY
1. 800 cc maximum
2. Normally aspirated.
3. No nitros oxide systems.
4. Must have hood, belly pan, windshield, contoured seat, enclosed tunnel.
5. Chains, pullys and exposed moving parts will be isolated from the driver and other competitors by shield capable of retaining all accidental explosions and component impacts. Integrity of protective shields shall be at the Race Director discretion. No holes may be drilled in protective shields.

DRIVE SYSTEM
1. Any clutch system allowed.
2. The clutch cover must be separate from cowl configuration and cover clutches to center of bolt or below. Clutch cover guards must be .090 inch 6061T6 aluminum or equivalent and be covered with six (6) inch belting. If clutch cover is construction of .125 inch aluminum belting is recommended. Snowmobiles with removable side panels may bolt clutch cover guards to side panels to meet this requirement.
5. Handlebar ends must be capped.
6. Handlebars must be padded.
On snowmobiles which comply, in all respects, to the stock class rule, the stock belt guard may be used when moving up to Open class.

LIGHTS
1. Operating tail and brake lights are required.

CONTROLS
1. Brakes shall be operative at all times, Brake lever must be located on the left side of handlebar.
2. Throttle controls are same as stock class.

SKI SUSPENSION & STEERING
1. Maximum carbide distance cannot exceed forty three and one half (43.5) inches measured under the spindle. Carbides must be centered on the ski board.
2. Turing carbide length unlimited.

TRACK & TRACTION
1. Only rubber tracks are allowed. No cleats or partial cleated tracks.
2. Any length can be used.
3. Track must be one piece molded and commercially available and marketed through normal sales activity.
4. No minimum track width.
5. Stud ruling same as stock classes.

Multiple Violations of the same rule will result in suspension or disqualification.
